The Prelude 2 ensemble is for students who have exhibited some proficiency in note reading, and who are comfortable playing in an ensemble. Students at this level are expected to take private or semi-private lessons. Technique and reading skills are emphasized. There is no audition to participate in this ensemble. Prelude 2 Strings meets at Alabama Center for the Arts on Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:00pm.
Prelude 2 is open to students who have at least one year of experience playing a string instrument—violin, viola, cello or bass.
